Position Summary

The Nurse Practitioner (NP) is an advanced practice registered nurse responsible for providing comprehensive primary and specialty healthcare services. The NP evaluates patients, diagnoses conditions, develops treatment plans, prescribes medications (within the scope of practice), and collaborates with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive patient assessments, including medical history, physical examinations, and diagnostic evaluations
  • Diagnose and manage acute and chronic illnesses
  • Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests (labs, imaging, etc.)
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
  • Prescribe medications and therapeutic interventions in accordance with state and federal laws
  • Provide preventive care, health education, and counseling to patients and families
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as needed
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, medical assistants, and administrative staff
  • Maintain accurate and timely medical records in the electronic health record (EHR) system
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, OSHA, and clinical practice guidelines
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education
  • Supervise or mentor clinical staff when applicable

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nursing (MSN or DNP)
  • Current Nurse Practitioner license in the state of practice
  • National NP certification (AANP or ANCC)
  • Active DEA license (or eligibility to obtain)
  • Current BLS (ACLS preferred, depending on setting)
  • Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • BILINGUAL A PLUS

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in primary care, internal medicine, family medicine, or specialty practice
  • Experience with EHR systems
  • Experience in outpatient or long-term care settings

Work Environment

  • Clinical/medical office setting
  • May involve standing, walking, and assisting patients
  • Full-time or part-time availability depending on organizational needs
