We aim to communicate very clearly so that you are fully engaged in your patients. We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Licensed Physical Therapy Assistant to join our orthopaedic care team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in physiotherapy practices, with a focus on patient-centered care across diverse settings such as inpatient facilities, outpatient clinics, home health, and skilled nursing environments. As a Licensed Physical Therapy Assistant, you will collaborate closely with our medical providers and Doctor of Physical Therapy to implement treatment plans, assist in patient recovery, and promote optimal mobility and function. Your expertise in anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology will be essential in delivering high-quality care tailored to each patient's needs.
Responsibilities
- Assist orthopaedic medical providers and Doctor of Physical Therapy in developing and implementing individualized care plans for patients across various settings including inpatient, outpatient, and home health.
- Conduct therapeutic interventions
- Therapeutic Interventions include: Muscle Energy Techniques(Neuromuscular Re-education), Trigger Point Releases, Stretching Exercises, Therapeutic Exercises, Lumbar/Cervical Traction, Ice/Biofreeze/Heat Therapy, Massage Therapy – allowing for alleviation of muscle tension and proper spinal realignment, Ultrasound Technology, Electrical Muscle Stimulation, Specialized Rehabilitation Treatment Programs for Scoliosis (Pediatric and Adults), Specialized Post-Trauma Therapy Treatments Protocols each Designed for Specific Injuries
- Monitor patient progress and document responses to treatment accurately in accordance with clinical protocols and regulatory standards.
- Educate patients and their families on therapeutic exercises, postural corrections, and discharge planning to promote ongoing health management.
- Maintain a safe and clean environment by adhering to infection control procedures and safety guidelines at all times.
- Support discharge planning efforts by coordinating with multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless transitions of care.
- Stay current with advances in physiotherapy techniques, including orthopedic, geriatrics, pediatrics, and acute care practices.
- Collaborate effectively with healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes through comprehensive care strategies.
Requirements
- Valid licensure as a Physical Therapy Assistant from an accredited program is required.
- Demonstrated experience in outpatient clinics, inpatient settings, or skilled nursing facilities is preferred.
- Proficiency in physiotherapy techniques such as trigger point therapy and manual therapy modalities.
- Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and patient care principles.
- Experience working with diverse populations including geriatrics and pediatrics is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with care plans development, discharge procedures, and documentation standards.
- Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary teams in fast-paced environments
