*Job Summary*
We are looking for a full time Occupational Therapy Assistant to join our team of hand therapists.

The OTA must exhibit exceptional interpersonal skill, multitasking ability, and display a passion for orthopedic occupational therapy. The OTA will be responsible for maintaining compliance with state and federal regulations and guidelines and California state licensure is a requirement. The OTA is responsible for following the plan of care and treatment of patients with a wide variety of conditions.
Become a part of the Coastal Hand Therapy team and build your professional and personal skills as a therapist. Experience in orthopedics is preferred but not required.
*Duties*
* Assist Occupational Therapists in implementing treatment plans tailored to each patient’s needs.
* Provide direct patient care by guiding patients through therapeutic exercises and activities.
* Document patient progress and report any changes in condition or concerns to the supervising therapist.
* Educate patients and their families about treatment plans and home exercise programs.
* Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to optimize patient outcomes.
* Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities.
As an OTA with Coastal Hand Therapy, you will be responsible for helping to carry out the treatment plans and treatments for each patient. You will be collaborating directly with the supervising OT regarding each case. You will be providing direct manual therapy to assist in recovery as well as selecting activities and exercises to help facilitate recovery. We are fortunate to provide care for a wide variety of conditions. This includes but is not limited to arthritis, tendinopathy, nerve compression, orthopedic aftercare for upper extremity fractures, joint replacements, nerve releases, and tendon repairs. Treatments are focused on helping patients regain functional independence and return to their prior level of function. We provide specific plans to meet each patients individual needs to be able to return to their lives without limitations.
*Skills*
* Knowledgeable in occupational health principles and practices.
* Solid understanding of anatomy knowledge and medical terminology relevant to therapy services.
* Experience working with orthopedic patients, demonstrating patience and empathy.
* Familiarity with outpatient therapy settings and procedures.
* Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients, families, and healthcare professionals.
