Role Description: We are seeking a dynamic and results-driven Accountant to join our team. This role is responsible for managing financial records, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements, and providing accurate financial reporting to support informed business decision-making within our finance team.
Key Responsibilities:
Prepare profit and loss statements and monthly closing and cost accounting reports

Preparation of GST, FBT, Payroll and BAS return. Responsible for ensuring all compliance requirements are met in a timely manner

Compile and analyse financial information to prepare entries to accounts, such as general ledger accounts and documents business transactions

Establish, maintain and coordinate the implementation of accounting control procedure.

Monitor and review budget, revenue, expense, payroll entries, invoices and other accounting documents

Analyse revenue and expenditure trends and recommend appropriate budget levels and ensure expenditure control

Explain billing invoices and accounting policies to staff, vendors and clients.

Resolve accounting discrepancies.

Recommend, develop and maintain financial databases, computer software systems and manual filling systems

Maintain internal control systems.

Interact with auditors in competing audits

Manage inventory including inventory reconciliation, stocktake variance report, stock adjustment

Liaison with external auditors and tax specialists from time to time.

Assist in process improvements and systems enhancement initiatives.

Requirements:
Proven 2 years’ experience as an Accountant, ideally within the related industry.

Tertiary qualification in accounting or related field OR minimum 5 years of experience that can be used in absence of formal qualification

Strong understanding of emergency clinics and industry requirements preferred

Excellent communication, negotiation and management skills.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a results-oriented mindset.
