Join a collaborative, supportive team while gaining hands-on experience across multiple care areas, including:

Surgical Care
Work with post-operative patients in our inpatient surgery units, playing a key role in helping them regain mobility and independence.

Critical Care
Support rehabilitation in high-acuity settings such as the ICU and Emergency Department. You’ll actively contribute to early mobilization programs for admitted patients.

Acute Medicine
Build your expertise on our medical-surgical units (Quinte 5 and 6). You’ll also work within our integrated stroke unit, providing care for patients with acute neuro and stroke conditions.

Post-Acute Care
Grow your experience in several specialized rehab environments, including:

Intensive Rehabilitation (Sills 3)

Slow-stream Rehabilitation (Complex Continuing Care – Sills 4)

Restorative Care at our off-site Transitional Care Unit

Your commitment will support residents through their recovery and long-term well-being.

Required Qualifications

Active Certificate of Registration (or eligibility within 6 months) with the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario

At least 200 hours of direct PT patient care in the past 12 months involving neurological and/or orthopaedic conditions (student placement hours accepted)

Ability to manage a physically demanding caseload (Physical Demands Analysis available)

Key Responsibilities

Conduct physiotherapy assessments and determine patient suitability for treatment

Set treatment goals and develop personalized care plans in collaboration with patients and referring physicians

Deliver and adjust physiotherapy programs including therapeutic exercise and physical/electrical modalities

Educate patients and families on condition management, home exercises, and prevention strategies

Communicate relevant patient updates to the healthcare team

Participate in case conferences, chart reviews, and patient rounds

Maintain accurate clinical documentation and statistics

Collaborate with community agencies when needed

Contribute to departmental quality improvement initiatives

Provide functional supervision to support staff (PTA/OTA) and physiotherapy students

Perform additional duties as assigned
