Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years Stepdown RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

An experienced registered nurse is needed for a 13-week contract assignment in a dynamic stepdown unit providing specialized cardiovascular and intermediate care. This role is based in Elkhorn, NE, and offers the opportunity to work within a multidisciplinary team supporting advanced cardiac programs including thoracic surgery, electrophysiology, cath lab, and structural heart services.
Key Responsibilities:

* Provide high-quality nursing care to PCU and general ICU patients with cardiac and vascular diagnoses such as CHF, atrial fibrillation, CVAs, and post-surgical management.
* Manage and titrate multiple critical drips including amiodarone, nitroglycerin, nicardipine, epinephrine, and cardizem.
* Interpret telemetry strips as part of patient monitoring duties.
* Collaborate effectively with intensivists, hospitalists, cardiologists, respiratory therapists, and patient care technicians.
* Maintain compliance with hospital policies including fingernail standards and documentation.
* Successfully complete a pass/fail competency exam during orientation.

Qualifications and Experience:

* Current RN license with at least one year of stepdown/ICU or PCU experience.
* Certifications in BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) are mandatory.
* Must be able to titrate drips and read telemetry.
* Possess a valid drivers license and reside within 50 miles of the facility.
* Ability to pass a drug screen and background check.
* Flexibility to float to units of similar or lower acuity.
* Adherence to dress code requiring navy blue scrubs.

Schedule:

* 48-hour contracts over a 13-week period.
* Shift options: 0630-1900 or 1830-0700.
* Every other weekend coverage required.
* No call or standby duties.
