Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) – Pediatric Care

Position Overview

Required Qualifications

  • Associate degree or higher from an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program

  • Active and unrestricted Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) license in the State of Michigan

  • Minimum of 1 year of pediatric care experience

  • At least 1 year of experience using electronic medical records (EMR)

    • Experience with Allscripts Enterprise, Allscripts Professional, or similar EMR systems preferred

Key Responsibilities

  • Implement and carry out individualized treatment plans under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist

  • Address client needs related to daily living skills, fine and gross motor development, play skills, and sensory integration

  • Collaborate closely with clients, families, physicians, Board Certified Behavior Analysts (BCBAs), and interdisciplinary team members

  • Monitor client progress and communicate changes in status or treatment needs to the supervising Occupational Therapist

  • Maintain accurate, timely documentation in compliance with company, insurance, and regulatory requirements

  • Participate in weekly ancillary service meetings and ongoing training sessions

  • Coordinate treatment goals with other professionals to ensure comprehensive, consistent care

  • Meet or exceed established productivity standards while maintaining quality care

  • Use professional judgment to ensure the safety of clients, families, and staff

  • Maintain current licensure and certifications in accordance with state requirements

Schedule & Availability

  • Evening and weekend availability required
