Job Title: Registered Nurse (Aged Care)
Salary range: $80,000 – $90,000 depending on skill level + Superannuation
Job Closure date: 30 days
About the Role:
Our Client is a community-based not-for-profit home located in a small town of Meningie. Their modern, 30 bed home has a lovely outlook over the town and Lake. Our client is looking for an experienced Aged Care Registered Nurse to join the team focussed on ensuring an excellent quality of care to residents and by extension, their families.
Key Responsibilities that will be a part of the job:
Deliver Person-Centred Nursing Care
• Provide compassionate and individualized care to elderly residents, considering their unique physical, emotional, and social needs.
• Adapt care approaches to support residents with diverse health conditions, including dementia, mobility limitations, and age-related illnesses.
Administer Clinical Care and Medical Support
• Perform essential clinical tasks such as medication administration, wound dressing, and chronic disease management (e.g., diabetes, hypertension).
• Monitor residents’ health status, recognize changes, and respond appropriately to ensure optimal wellbeing.
Collaborate on Care Planning and Reviews
• Work closely with residents, their families, and the multidisciplinary care team (e.g., doctors, physiotherapists, dietitians) to assess needs, develop care plans, and regularly evaluate progress.
• Ensure care strategies align with residents’ preferences and medical requirements.
Maintain Accurate and Compliant Documentation
• Record all care interventions, observations, and health updates in accordance with organizational policies and healthcare regulations.
• Ensure documentation is clear, timely, and supports continuity of care.
Guide and Mentor Care Staff
• Provide leadership, training, and support to Enrolled Nurses (ENs) and care workers to enhance their skills and ensure high-quality service delivery.
• Foster a positive and collaborative team environment.
Uphold Resident Safety, Dignity, and Comfort
• Promote a safe, respectful, and homelike atmosphere where residents feel valued and comfortable.
• Protect residents’ privacy and autonomy while maintaining infection control and risk management standards.
Engage in Professional Development and Quality Improvement
• Stay informed about best practices, aged care standards, and emerging healthcare trends.
• Participate in initiatives to enhance care quality, efficiency, and resident satisfaction.
Skills & Experience that are required and will add value to your submission:
• Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent
• Current AHPRA Registered Nurse registration.
• Minimum one year nursing experience.
• NDIS Worker Screening Check (current or within five years).
• Current flu and COVID-19 vaccinations.
• Strong teamwork, leadership and communication skills.
• Own reliable transport.
• Commitment to high-quality, person-centred aged care.
