Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT) – Under Fluoroscopy for Spinal Pain Management Procedures

Position Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Medical Radiation Technologist (MRT) to join our dynamic diagnostic imaging team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of diagnostic imaging procedures to produce high-quality images and to assist the Radiologist in performing pain management spinal injections under fluoroscopy. This role requires precision, technical expertise, adherence to strict safety protocols, and excellent patient care skills.

Must-Have Qualifications & Experience

Education: Graduate of an accredited program in Medical Radiation Technology or Radiologic Technology.
Certification/Licensing: Active registration and in good standing with the (Relevant Canadian Regulatory Body, e.g., CAMRT (Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists) or provincial equivalent.
Active provincial license or eligible to receive a license to practice as a Medical Radiation Technologist.

Must-Have Skills:
1-2 years of experience as a practicing MRT, preferably within a fast-paced clinical or hospital setting.Experience in X-ray / fluoroscopy for pain management injections.
Strong knowledge of human anatomy, physiology, and pathology.
Fluoroscopy for IR or spinal pain management procedures.
Proficiency in operating diagnostic imaging equipment and related software (PACS/EHR).
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient care skills.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Preferred but Non-Mandatory Skills and Experience:
Experience with specialized modalities (e.g., CT, Mammography).
Knowledge of quality assurance (QA) protocols.
Software proficiency, e.g., Philips, GE systems.

Working Conditions & Physical Requirements
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift/move patients with assistance when necessary.
Exposure to radiation (with appropriate protective measures in place).
Ability to work flexible shifts, which may include evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.

Key Responsibilities
Perform Diagnostic Procedures: Execute general radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures following established protocols and physician requests. Operate X-ray equipment safely and effectively.
Patient Care & Safety:
Prepare patients for procedures, providing clear instructions and addressing concerns to ensure comfort and cooperation.
Prioritize patient safety by strictly adhering to radiation protection standards
Verify patient identity and procedure requests accurately.
Image Quality & Analysis:
Produce diagnostic images of superior quality, ensuring all images are accurately labelled and transferred to the PACS (Picture Archiving and Communication System).
Evaluate images for technical quality, proper positioning, and diagnostic clarity.
Equipment Operation & Maintenance:
Maintain and troubleshoot imaging equipment, reporting any malfunctions promptly.
Ensure a clean, safe, and organized work environment, stocked with necessary supplies.
Collaboration & Documentation:
Collaborate effectively with radiologists, physicians, nurses, and other healthcare team members.
Maintain accurate and detailed patient records and documentation within the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
