Position Summary

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Psychotherapist or Mental Health Counsellor to provide 1-1 virtual or in-person support to individuals who are in the process of finding or retaining employment. This is a flexible, casual role ideal for professionals who are passionate about mental health and thrive in dynamic, client-focused environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide short-term individual counselling and therapeutic support to clients
  • Conduct assessments and collaboratively develop care or treatment plans
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation in accordance with organizational policies and professional standards
  • Coordinate care with program staff and/or employment service providers as needed
  • Uphold ethical, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive practices

Qualifications

  • Master of Social Work (MSW) or equivalent degree in Counselling Psychology or related field
  • Qualifying therapist is acceptable so long as you provide the appropriate supervision
  • Registered and in good standing with a relevant professional regulatory body (e.g. CRPO)
  • Minimum 2 years of clinical experience in mental health counselling or psychotherapy
  • Experience with diverse populations, including individuals from equity-deserving groups
  • Knowledge of mental health frameworks (e.g., CBT, DBT, trauma‑informed care, etc.)
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and crisis intervention skills
  • Languages – Additional languages is an asset
